Displaying Text Files

Hello everyone, this should be an easy one for you all.

I am in the process of building a High Bandwidth and Low Bandwidth version of a website for a client, and had an idea that I wasn't sure would work or not. All of my Flash files are referencing to external text files for text to display. I would like these text files to also be displayed on PHP pages, that way the client can update the text file himself and thus update both sides of the site. Can anyone give this to me in "retarded terms", as I really do not know PHP that well.

Let me get this straight this is for a client and you dont really know PHP 😕

Anyways as this is for a client and your getting paid (im sure you are), take a look into http://www.php.net/manual/en/ref.filesystem.php, of course depending on what you actually want done with the files.

[man]fopen[/man] [man]fread[/man] [man]fwrite[/man] are just some functions you may find useful.

Ok I wasn't asking for sarcasm, just assistance.

The only reason the page is PHP is to read the text file. I didn't offer the Low Bandwidth, he wants it.

The page you showed me is nice...yet I do not know what is going on, mainly because

I really do not know PHP that well.

If someone else can explain how to set this up I'd be very grateful.

you have a.txt that is opened by flash files and you want what? an option to show a.txt directly to the viewer ?
