My biggest problem. Syntax error causes blank page. Nothing loads.

I'm really frustrated. It seems like if i miss a curly brace or a semi colon, what i get is a blank page with nothing sent to the browser.

This is a pain because i have to search for the missing brace or semicolon without even a line number to help me out.

Sometimes i have to comment out lines until i find the one that causes the page to load.

This is time consuming and frustrating! Can anyone give me a suggestion?

Surely if it was a missing brace or semi-colon u should get an error message with the line number :bemused: hmmmm... anyway, have u tried a PHP debugger?? Might help:

Both on my server and on the local i dont get an error reporting. I tried doing

error_reporting(E_ALL);

but i still get nothing!!! just a blank page

if display_errors is turned off in your configuration, errors won't be displayed. This is because error messages should not be displayed in a live site.

add ini_set before your display_errors

ini_set('display_errors','1');
error_reporting(E_ALL);
