I had asked some questions about storing e-mail or messeges in my hosting account. I was interested in how emails are stored in large systems like yahoo, hotmail ect....
When chatting with the host about using MyODBC to get remote acces I popped the question to the rep.
he said its a matter of
"going into a file not into a table"
What is the difference between a file and a record????
How does this work??????????????
And when should the decision be made to set a file for each new member???????? I imagine I need room and speed to work with a file.
The bad news is my hosting company does not have remote access.
