PHP & Mozilla

I have a pc which is not connected to the Internet. I have installed on it, MySQL, PHP, IIS, IE and Mozilla.

However, when i come to test a page, in IE i type

http://localhost/websitefolder/index.php and it works fine. However, when i type this in Mozilla, i get a prompt asking me for a user name and a password.

Why do i get this prompt ? ... actually, i do not know what user/pass i should put there ?

Any ideas please ?

It maybe because you are asking for localhost. Try
http://127.0.0.1/websitefolder/index.php

127.0.0.1 is the same as localhost but is your own computer.

i tried your suggestion, but i do get this error message:

You are not authorized to view this page

You do not have permission to view this directory or page using the credentials you supplied.

HTTP 401.2 - Unauthorized: Logon failed due to server configuration
Internet Information Services

However, with IE it works flawless.

Hi,

check the authentication settings (IIS manager) of the web site. Integrated authentication might be enabled. Disable that option and enable anonymous access.

EDIT: The problem could also be, that the IUSR_??? user doesn't have read/execute permissions on the web folder and files.

Yep - it's going to be because IIS has integrated NT authentication enabled. Most builds of Mozilla don't support this (I don't know whether even ones which do, enable it by default).

thank you all for your help ... following your suggestions, i've managed to sort out the problem. The solution was that in the properties of the IIS, in the directory security, i had to untick the option "Integrated Windows authentication".
