No smtp server,how can I send mail in PHP

Hello,

I dont have any SMTP server,I want to write a mail program that uses either yahoo or gamil to send email for me.can I do that.

I wrote this in php.ini

SMTP:username:[e-mail]

It wont work

Any respectible SMTP server administrator does not allow open relaying.

As for the php.ini setting...

SMTP [e-mail]

This is to tell the PHP windows version which SMTP server to use. An email address is not a valid URL! On the other hand, your ISP mail server should accept email from PHP. Open Outlook and see what your outgoing server is.

I do not have any SMTP sever,van I send mail in php using y university account or yahoo or gmail,If yes what setyting I should put in the php.ini file,

I tried all the following

In above i USED AT
MAIL IN PHP:MAIL.btinternet.com

I even tried with username: Password@yahoo/gmail.com

Can any one suggest me of any smtp servers that allow sending unsolicited email

Hope not... open relays are a Bad Thing.

You should be able to send mail via whatever network you are connected to... see my post in your other (similar) thread about how to set the server to use. Should be the same server as your local email client uses for outgoing.
