MySql Loop

I have searched for 2 days now for a solution. I hope someone here can tell me how to do it.

I have a list of records in a table that I want to cycle with each reloading of a page. I have already setup a table that updates everytime the page is displayed.

What I am looking for is some way of looping through a table. I have already tried the LIMIT but it only goes from the record to the end of the table and doesn't start over again.

Any ideas greatly appreciated.

Do a normal SELECT on the table.
Use mysql_query(), pg_query(), sqlite_query() or the relevant function that returns a buffered result set for your query in your RDMS.
Loop through the result set normally.
Use mysql_rewind(), pg_rewind(), sqlite_rewind() etc to bring the result set offset back to the initial row returned.

Unfortunately I don't see any mysql_rewind() function.

Would the best plan be to read the table in 2 queries? one reading from the offset with the LIMIT to determine where to start and the other from the beginning and use the LIMIT to determine where to stop?

hmm... looks like I've been reading too much about SQLite that I've forgotten the exact API for mysql and pgsql.

The simple solution would be to simulate it with mysql_data_seek().

No need to know where to stop, as many rows as possible would be returned.
