weekday and date doesnt correspond in my calendar script

I have written a php calendar script below. The problem
is that I cant get the weekday and date to correspond.
Any suggestions ?

Maby im misunderstood. If you view the script you will se
that it says Tue is the 2nd, Wed is the 3rd, Thu
is the 4th, and so on.

This is wrong. It's supposed to show Tue the 2nd,
Wed the 3rd, Thu 4th, and so on.

But I dont understand how and where to define this in the script.
