SQL count

Hello,

Here is an example :

Table 1
ID - Name
1 - 'Mr Blogs'
2 - 'Mr Blobby'
3 - 'Mr Smith'
4 - 'Mr Morris'
5 - 'Mr Jackson'

Table 2
ID - Cust ID
1 - 1
2 - 1
3 - 5
4 - 3
5 - 1

How would I, using SQL, be able to count How many customers (Table one) has atleast 1 or more occurences in Table 2?

So in this example, the result would be 3.

I know it is possible using PHP's If's and whiles, but I dont think that is the best option.

SELECT DISTINCT Cust_ID FROM table2

the number of rows returned from this query is the count

How would you find out the most common figure in a table?

IE In table two, see which Cust ID has the most transactions/produts.

SELECT Cust_ID, COUNT(Cust_ID) AS count FROM table2 GROUP BY Cust_ID ORDER BY count DESC

the higher counts will be listed first
