Here's a WTF for you. XPath. Specifically, relational operators. Having had the foresight to use "and" instead of "&&", avoiding the otherwise necessary "&amp;&amp;", and hence "or" instead of "||", XPath's designers went ahead and used =, !=, and so on. I could have lived with "eq" "neq", and so on Fortran-style. I'd have been especially happy to write "leq" instead of the "<=" I have to use now.
I feel slightly better. I guess that's what comes from going for a good zip.
