Single Quotes and MySQL Boolean Full-Text Searches

Hi!

I'm trying to get the MySQL Boolean search working with PHP and I'm successful except for when the search string includes a single quote ('). I've tried removing the / that PHP puts in from of the quote which didn't help. I'm pretty stumped at this point. Any help would be much appriciated, code is below.

Use \ Before ' or " In Stuff Like This:

echo " Hello Your Name is \"BOB\" ";

Outputs: Hello Your Name Is "BOB"

It's not the single quote causing the problems because I can make it work with other words that have a single quote. Actually the varable is set in a form and passed to the script so it's getting slashed out automatically. I just recently have found another word that it breaks on which is "further".

There is an entry in the database called "Further Down The Spiral". If you type 'Further' into the search box it comes up with no results but if you type in 'Spiral' results are found including this entry.

Another entry is "We're In This Together" which won't return results if "We're" is included as a word in the search. I've tested with a made up entry with a ' in a word and all worked well - so I'm sure that the ' is not causing the problem.

I'm totally stumped on this. Thanks for your help.
