Loadng/Progress bar for file uploads

Hey everyone,

Here is my question .....

As it stands, when uploading files via php, we have to rely on the status bar of the browser window for an "update" on the progress of the upload..

I was wondering if it was possible to create a custom loading/progress bar with percentages and such ?????

Is this even possible using PHP ????

Can anyone point me in the right direction ????

Javascript, not the fan of everyone, but a working script can be found at http://www.devpro.it/ i use it on a few PHP upload sites in its basic form. but sure it can be modified to contain an actual percentage bar.?

I've been using this in a script I've been working on.

A percentage bar can't be done using pure PHP.

You can do one using a mix of php and cgi apparently
