[Resolved] $_SESSION Trouble Shooting

I set the index $_SESSION['login'] = 1

in login script

i have a status.php script that im using for testing purposes.
in it i echo $_SESSION['login']

even after session_destroy()
$_SESSION['login'] is set to 1

any ideas?

What the manual says:

It does not unset any of the global variables associated with the session, or unset the session cookie.

. Also this, in a user's note:

Remember that session_destroy() does not unset $SESSION at the moment it is executed. $SESSION is unset when the current script has stopped running.

have read up from manual.

i think the problem is a little more under lying

i have a new script that sets a few $_SESSION vars

i run this> check the staus page and it updates vars, all except 'login'.

i then run session_destroy script> check status and find all vars are empty except 'login'

any way im off to the pub!!

the problem (like so many) was human error

the reason $SESSION['login'] was always set to 1
was that at the top of the script i had a conditional statement that checked if $SESSION['login'] equals 1

what id didn't have was a second = sign, so i was infact setting $_SESSION['login'] to equal 1 every time!!

....again i hang my head.
