fwrite and mysql

I want to get all email address from a table in mysql and write them to a text file. There will be alot of email address.

The table name is members and the coloum is email

Can anyone show me how to do this..

if you know the name of the function to write text to files then it seems you might have the manual.

look up the mysql functions aswell and the manual will show you how to do it.

i dont think anyone here is going to write it for you. just come back with your code if your having trouble.

You know drew, thank you, I tried everything and it didnt work and i changed the code so dang much i was getting confused.

I noticed what I was doing wrong i think though.
you used fetch row and I was using fetch array

Would that have mattered ?

Well anyway, I wanted to say, that it isnt about doing the code for people, some and most people learn from code examples and they take that code and by doing it over and messing with it, they learn. Which is how I find the best way to learn.

I meant to tell that when I was using array, all i got was one email address and with yours i got them all.

So if you can tell me if that was my problem that would be great.

using mysql_fetch_array would be fine too, instead of using the data[0] like i did it would be data['email'], but the while loop is the most important part, to make sure you get every result.

Thats what I didnt do, I didnt have the while loop going on..

That is why I only got one email address....

now is there a different way to do this if i wanted to write it as something other then a txt file ?

lets say a html file or excel file....

as far as the loop goes, you can use that method every time you are expecting more than 1 result back from the query. its quite common and you will see it or a variation of it used. as far as writing to html or excel, no different except for either having the html code, or the commas to separate the values in excel.
