Using SESSION affects google ranking?

I am wondering if using SESSION vars in my code affects my google ranking. There's a line in the google guidelines
that says
"...Allow search bots to crawl your sites without session ID's or arguments that track their path through the site..."

Also can a user disable a session while looking at a webpage?

I know a user can disable cookies and java in explorer, but can they disable SESSION too??

generally speaking, it is best not use GET variables (such as session id's) in your URLs as it can complicate how bots crawl websites for indexing purposes. if you are using apache, this problem is typically solved by clever usage of mod_rewrite.
