Yeah, that's why it's in the FAQ. New programmers (and experienced ones) are expected to check through there before posting their own questions.

maybe bold on the expected bit, im sure only 1% of visitors actually even click on the FAQ links, little known read them. But yes it is a great resource, unfortunately came a little late for me.

Until the thread bubbles under and then no-one will ever see it again, because no-one bothers searching either.

(My experience here has been that once a question has been answered in the FAQ, the frequency with which it is asked does drop. So people are reading them.)
