Problem when running a PHP program - no error messages

I'm brand new here, so I wonder if I might start with this problem.

Actually, this is a weird one. I have some code which schematically looks like this one:

function Fuggveny($valtozok) {
print "valamiszöveg A...<br>";
/ OTHER CODE /

Kiiro_Fuggveny($valtozok);

print "valamiszöveg B...<br>";
/ OTHER CODE /
}

function Kiiro_Fuggveny($valtozok){
/ OTHER CODE /
print "valamiszöveg C...<br>";
}

Fuggveny($valtozok);

As you see, if you execute this, the output should look like this:

valamiszöveg A...
valamiszöveg C...
valamiszöveg B...

Instead, the program just aborts after executing 'Kiiro_Fuggveny' with no error messages, notices whatsoever. So the output of the above example would be:

valamiszöveg A...
valamiszöveg C...

Now the weird part: If i take the contents of 'Kiiro_Fuggveny' and move it inside 'Fuggveny', the program executes normally.

What's going on? Why the program's aborting after calling and executing 'Kiiro_Fuggveny' or any ohter Function for that matter?

I am by far no expert on PHP, only having used it for a month on my laptop to try and figure out how it all works.

BUT, I do believe that I saw at some point that PHP used to use a top-down design system, though that isn't true with the newer versions (no, unfortunately, I don't know the version numbers). But, if you are using an older verison, then defining Kiiro_Fuggveny() after Fuggveny() would cause you this problem as Fuggveny() wouldn't know what Kiiro_Fuggveny() is.

Try defining Kiiro_Fuggveny() before Fuggveny() and see what you get.

Oh, and the reason that it might work for Installer and not you is that if he is using a newer version of PHP that isn't top-down, then he wouldn't see this problem.

This sounds logical. However, in this case PHP should display some warning, or error even, but my program stops without a word from PHP. No error messages, no warnings, no usable Apache logs, no nothing... This, it seems, invalidates the possibility you described AFAIK... 🙁

However, I tried it... with no luck. 🙁

I wonder if there's some design error maybe... but what kind of design error can cause something like this?

Is this the exact code you were testing with? If not, post the code you were using, maybe theres something else wrong.
