UPDATE query not working

Hello,

I don't know why my update query is not working. Seems that everything is fine and there is no compiler error. There must be some logical error that is hidden from my eyes.

Sorry about my long variables. They are in Finnish language so please don't mind.

have you tried putting the variables that you want to change between single quotes?

if mysql does not what you expect it to do:

    anahankkeessa,yksikko=$yksikko,paikkakoodi=$paikka

    tuskokeennytteenottopa,glukoosinmritysmenetelm=$gl
    ukoosinmritysmenetelm,yhteyshenkilo=$yhteyshenkilo
   ,terveyskeskus=$terveyskeskus,tkjatko=$tkjatko,kat
    uosoite=$katuosoite,postiosoite=$postiosoite,puhel

   echo $sql;

   Because you want to know what you actually send to the database don't you?

2. $result = mysql_query($sql) or die(mysql_error());

   so php tells shows you an error message being helpful (hopefully) if an error occured

3. if you see no error message but simply the sql statement, it's almost sure that no records have been found matching the conditions you specified
