Shorten php url???

hey, i was wondering if anyone could help me, aim trying to shorten the url to a php page.
for example.
i want this url:

http://www.mydomain.com/auto/search.php?zoom_query=car+parts&zoom_page=2&zoom_per_page=10&zoom_cat=-1&zoom_and=0&zoom_sort=0

to look like this:

http://www.mydomain.com/auto/car parts

or

http://www.mydomain.com/baby/search.php?zoom_query=baby+gifts&zoom_per_page=10&zoom_and=0&zoom_sort=0

to look like this:

http://www.mydomain.com/baby gifts

Any Ideas or suggestions? 🙂

if you are using apache then use mod_rewrite
