PHP Includes

I'm having some issues with a PHP include. This bit is correct, right?

<?php include("/currently/current.php"); ?>

I'm attempting to put it on this page: http://twilight-whispers.com/menu.php.

When I add that include code to menu.php, it takes forever to load, and then says "Page Cannot be Found" (not a 404). I have no idea what I'm doing wrong! I made sure that my path is right, and everything seems to be where it should. I cleared my cache and loaded the page with CTRL + F5 too. Any help would be appreciated!

your code looks fine but im thinking u dont have the page setup i went to

which is what your telling your include to get and the page doesnt exist

Yes, that's because I moved it to another location to test something out. I moved it back but it still didn't work.

^{^try} that with out the slash mark

You're not supposed to have the slash mark before the path? I took it out and it still doesn't work.

Although, I did eliminate the folder "currently" and just put the contents in htdocs and then it worked. But it still bugs me that it won't work in the subfolder.:rolleyes:

Nope, still doesn't work.

does your webhost allow php? try this

<? echo("test"); ?>

and see if that works?

Elisabeth, i checked out the site in mozilla and the side menu doesnt show up, it works ok in IE though. just letting you know since more people are making the switch these days.

Thanks! That bit of code did the trick. Apparently it needed the absolute path. :rolleyes:

Drew, that is odd, as Shawn said, considering it's being parsed before sent to the client. Thanks for letting me know though. This layout is pretty picky, actually. It doesn't look that great in anything under 1024 x 768 either. I love it, and it took me forever to make, so I think I'll keep it up for a while. But I'll have more of a cross-browser view in mind for my next layout.

php code always gets parsed before its sent to the client.

That's what's wierd. The browser you use should have no effect on if the page is included or not, BECAUSE of the fact it's parsed before sent.

ok i get it now. i didnt know thats what you meant. i think it has more to do with absolute positioning, as it is showing up its just being covered by the main frame. you can see this if you switch the iframes around or remove the iframe for the menu in mozilla.

i think if you can manage to eliminate all the errors that shows, it will work ok.
