.htaccess redirect

I wanted to remove the length urls like

http://www.domain.com/modules.php?name=directory&op=showdetails&uname=rapbhan

where it will display you the details page. Now i wanted a way, where in the users can just have

http://www.domain.com/rapbhan

where it will be redirected to fetch their pages

http://www.domain.com/modules.php?name=directory&op=showdetails&uname=rapbhan

Any advices/suggestions?

This question has been asked a few times. Lucky for me I did a Search on the board as well as google search.
