insert tags into textfield

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to know how to do like this forum does with inserting coding into the textfield. I know they using Javascript but can not find what I want.

I have searched around but cant find it anywhere 🙁

will just have very simple functions like Bold Italic and Underline.

I believe phpbb has it pretty well documented on their site. I think if you search here for phpbb you'll probably come across what you are looking for.
