Would like to hear some suggestions on a voting system I am creating

Hi,

I am currently producing a voting system that will require users to pick one of two categories. When the have chosen, they will then have to choose a piece of work from six further categories. I envisage this to be a multi page selection process.

So, basically what I am asking is should I use $SESSION to keep a tally of the answers so far? I don't think using $GET and post the variables in the URL is wise, so the only other thing would be to use the $_POST variable and use hidden fields.

Anyone have any preferences as to which is best practice, quicker, securer etc?

...they are more secure if for no other reason than that you have to be of some degree of knowledge when you try to hack it... With hidden fields all you need is to view the source of the page...

From the functionality perspective be careful to predict users that want to vote one category and then change their mind to press back button of the browser and choose other option instead...
