Hi all, got a problem with retrieving a value from a text box and then sending this value with a link. I've managed to send a variable with a link but i'm having trouble populating the variable with the user input from the text box

heres a snippet from the code

print "<a href=find_unit.php?code=$code>";

how do i get $code to contain the input from the text box.

Any help would be wicked!!

if the form and the link are on the same page then this cannot be done with PHP, you must use client_side code (javascript).

if the link is on the form processing page of the form then simply do:

echo '<a href="find_unit.php?code=' . $_POST['code'] . '">';

I don't know if i'm being stupid but it seems to make sense that this should be possible with server side script, as PHP can post to a single page from a form then why not multiple pages

What i'm trying to do is have one text area and then various links to different pages all using the input from the text area as search criteria. Obviously if i submit the form then it can only be posted to one other page.

Is it at all possible to do without having sepereate forms for each link. Its just i've never used JScript b4 and it would be well handy if i could do this with PHP
