Simple event calendar

Hello:

Is it possible to do the following?

I want to create a calendar which will display the entire month, display the name of the event on a day as a link, and if a person clicks on the event link a pop up window will appear with detail information about the event.

If it's possible, where do I begin?

It is possible. You can begin by looking at php manual, the following topics:
- database connections to store and read information about events (you can read some mysql tutorial to learn about Structured Query Language).
- date/time functions to create calendar
