Open file inside zip

I want to create a website for organizing my resources: files, zip, pdf, tar, gz, etc. All of my resources file is 3 GB.

How I can open file inside zip without extracts it?. I just want to create hyperlinks to point index.html inside the zip.

Can anybody help me?

If you've got the zip extension loaded you could start looking at zip_open and zip_read.

Is this site for the public, or something just for yourself which adds a huge convenience factor? If it is for the public I'd avoid this zip idea like the plague.

I tried the code in php manual and it works.
But when I clicked a link in the page, it did not work. I dont have any idea.

Of course a link won't work if it's just linking to another page as it would normally be on the server, and it's in the zip. You'd have to write a wrapper function to pull the content out of the zip, change all the links to something like

myzipripper.php?page=aboutus.html

Then grab the page value from myzipripper.php then pull out the page from the zip, change all the links again and display it.

This is the reason it's a horror to do.
