linking mysql to website

Hi, i am an absolute novice to php, and i am trying to link my sql db to my website, in order to perform a simple 'insert new record' function.

All i want is for my users to have the ability to add new account details through the form online, and the table in my db updates.

I have two days to do this, and am gettin nowhere fast.

What do i do? is there anywhere i can get the code from?

(I have heard something about a notepad file which has code pointing to and from the db)

that topic is bigger than a single forum post. You are going to have to design and setup the db and then implement code that interacts with it. I strongly recommend that you spend some time reading here: http://www.hotscripts.com/PHP/Tips_and_Tutorials/Database-Related/index.html

It is likley that someone has written some freely available code to do what you need with little modification. Try looking at the snippets available here on PHPBuilder and there is even more on HotScripts
