MMS -> Email -> PHP.... how?

I hope this is the right forum for this...

Ok, I've seen a script that allows users to send MMS pictures from their cell phone to a certain email address... then the php scripts takes the photo from the email and displays it on the webpage.

How is this done... can someone atleast point me in the right direction.
