multiple updates using dropdown menu

hi guys, need your help and expertise. got this problem thats been bugging me for quite sometime already. here goes...

mySQL table contains the following :
- name
- hair color
- lip color
- eye color

dynamic display :
name is to be displayed as dynamic text (not editable)
hair color, lip color and eye color are to be dynamically displayed on a drop down menu (editable), hence contains also the other colors that has not been chosen
* repeat region for display since there are more than 1 record

...now, the display page also works as the editable page, but limited only to the drop down menus since the 'name' is to be displayed only as dynamic text. unlike the dynamic drop down of hair color, lip color and eye color wc you can change / edit by choosing another color on the drop down list.

One Single Update Button

what i would really want to do is to have a single update button for all the records. after i made my changes,upon clicking the update button, it should automatically updates the records on the database. the user would end up on the same page after clicking the update button, but with the updated changes already.

i manage to make an update but on the last record only (VANESSA since it was being displayed on alphabetical order A-Z). every time i tried to make some changes on VANESSA, ANA and JENNIFER, only VANESSA's record changes.

what is your unique primary key field? is it "name"? if so i really suggest you modify your table to use an auto_incrementing integer field for this (what happens if there are 2 jennifers?). anyway, here is the basic (untested) idea. i'm quite sure this will not work out of the box, it's just a basic guide that you will have to tweak to match your exact data structure:

...i tried the code of devinemike, but it seems that its not working...but thanks for the devinemike...really appreciate it...

..does somebody out there have their own version of writing this code???...

maybe tell us what errors you're getting with devinemke's script?

...actually there was no errors, its just that some of the text that was supposed to be inside the drop down menu was being displayed outside it... there was no repeatition of records too. only 1 record was being presented...

of course not. as i specifically said in my earlier post:

well, it's unlikely that anyone is going to write your website for you but we will help out identify and fix errors.
i noticed on the code above that this bit

is missing closing </option> and </select> tags so you could try this:
