Alright. Time to get this settled. :glare:

URL = http://www.somethingunoriginal.com

Directory = /some/bloody/long/line/of/text/and/slashes/www/

Am I correct? Generally speaking?

What about ungenerally?

Can directory mean = some/bloody/long/line/of/text/and/slashes/www/
With no slash at the front?

Does directory mean = /some/bloody/long/line/of/text/and/slashes/www/subdirectory/
When working under a subdirectory?

Just some questions.

Google is a web search site: Google.

A googol is a very large number -- off the top of my head, I think it's a 1 (one) with 100 zeros after it.

Not clear on your question about directories.

Don't know what is "Generally" and "Ungenerally". An URL is an URL, a directory is a directory.

Path starts with / is absolute path

eg. <img src="/image/abc.jpg"> - find image/abc.jpg starting from the ROOT directory

This is relative path

eg. <img src="image/abc.jpg"> - find image/abc.jpg in the CURRENT directory

A subdirectory is also a directory.
