Random Picture Generator and then some

Does anyone know where I can find a script that will choose pictures out of a directory, and then randomly dislplay them on a page but in a thumbnail size, and linkable back to the original image? I want to have some sort of "include ()" function or something inserted into my homepage, and randomly display a picture, which someone can click and see the original image. I have found a php script that will do the randomizing of the picture but being a PHP retard, I cant figure out how to make it appear in reduced size on the index.php page. Can anyone help or point me in the right direction? Thanks

If you have the GD library, you can use the PHP's built-in image functions to manipulate images. It typically works better than just setting maximum width and height limits in the HTML IMG tag. I think that imagecopyresampled may be of use to you here.
