problem searchng for specific keywords

The script I wrote will only bring up exact results.

If I search for "ring" in it, it will only bring back anything with just the word "ring", not "wedding ring" or "gold ring", just exact phrases.

If I use LIKE in the mysql query it will bring back anything with "ring" in the word, like "earring" or "flooring".

What I want is in the middle. I want to search for "ring" and see "wedding ring", "gold ring", "anniversary ring", etc. come back as the results.

Is this possible?

Are we talking about searching as in a MySQL query? Try this:

$query = "SELECT * from MyTable WHERE columnName LIKE '%ring%'";
