[Resolved] form validation with php or javascript

I'm building a web application in php that submits appartments to a database.

Anyone who can tip me about some good/advanced form validation scripts in javascript(or php) that is suitable for validating a wide variety of form fields(phonenr, email, textfield, etc etc) ?

I've been through both of those a couple of times in the past, but I was looking for a good clientside validation script in javascript this time(so that the form doesn't have to be submitted before it's validated).

There are a thousand javascripts to solve form validation, but my experience is that a lot of them doesn't work any good.

I experience that a lot of users on this forum have good experience with php and javascript, and often also good solutions to problems, so thats why I'm asking for help.

Sorry to those of you that might mean that this thread is not in the scope of this forum...

Try doing a google search on "Javascript form validation"

Although, you should both have Javascript and PHP validation, or just PHP validation since Javascript is client-side and can easily be overrided. However PHP is server-side and cannot be overrided.

The advantage with having Javascript validation is that it should ease the server pressure.

create a Javascript file(formCheck.js) with the following text and put it in a "script" directory- you will have to tweak it to fit your form naming conventions:
