DB / Code Help

So I am going out on a limb here but what I want to do is take information from one database with is located on a "host server" and then have that information which is called be placed on and edited from another while maintaining security. For example lets say I call all the news from the "Server 1" DB and then place that information on a page for people to view.. easy.. now I want to edit that information, send it back to the "Server 1" DB..

Any help would be great, thanks for your time.

Thanks for responding but I am already know SQL.. the issue is keeping it secure without giving the other server access to the database username & password.. can this be done?

Hmm.... so you're wanting "Another Server" (don't people name their servers any more?) to be able to log into a database on the Host Server without it knowing how to log in.

Wouldn't it be easier to set up a distinct user on the Host Server database for Another Server's use, and then limit that user's access to what is appropriate for Another Server?
