create graph or bar chat without using GDK

Anyone who has create the graph chart or bar chart based on the data from the database? I wish not to use GDK or other words means it juz a script whereby it can read the data from database and generate it into bar or graph chart!

for example:

Student Set Score

Michael 1 76
Michael 2 80
Michael 3 50

So there will be the bar chat indicate up and down progress for michael above. Thanks.
