Display images in a folder

Hi, i'm after some code that will display the first image in a folder, with descriptions of what the image is etc., with a link to next picture and previous picture.

i've looked around the free sites, but most seem to have loads of features i don't need, and i don't feel comfortable messing about with that much code!

so does anyone know a good peice of code that i could mess around with and get it how i want it? (or someone could just write the whole thing for me 😛 joking lol, i'd rather mess with someone's code to help me learn! 🙂)

here is a simple script that displays all jpgs in a given folder. shouldnt be too hard to modify to your needs.
