Upgrading from 4.1.1 to the new 4.3.11

I am running MS Windows 2k, Apache Webserver 1.3.x, PHP 4.1.1, MySQL 3.23.39

Is it the case that i backup my php.ini, remove the php installtion and then reinstall the new php, and then redeply my php.ini?

That's what I do. I keep the ini file in the windows directory so I don't accidentally spaz it, and always install php in the same directory so I don't have to jockey about with the apache config.
