Please ignore how much of a jerk the original poster is, and how the conversation violently shifted from PHP-GTK to what version of Linux everyone uses. I really do think a PHP-GTK forum would be great for getting PHP to a wider audience (those without access to Web servers running PHP and without the technical knowledge to install it locally).

The difference is, though, that PHP-Gtk brings PHP to the desktop. It's a huge jump.
Whole-hearted agreement here. PHP-GTK is such a different implementation of PHP. PHP was originally for making dynamic websites. PHP-GTK allows you to make desktop apps, which lends itself to an entirely different audience than just PHP alone. This community should help promote the expansion of PHP's user base. Perhaps take a poll on the matter, or simply create the forum and see if it is used enough to justify its creation?
