Good photo gallery without hidden files

I run a web site for a student org. at VT, and it's hosted by the VT hosting service. I want to put up a photo gallery so anyone can create an account and post photos. I recently found Gallery (http://gallery.sourceforge.net) and it's exactly what I need, but it uses hidden files like .htaccess and .users. This hosting service that I use doesn't allow hidden files because they use hidden files to manage the account. I have php and mysql on the server. Does anyone know of any other photo galleries that fit my needs?

Anything that gets put into a .htaccess file could be put into apache's httpd.conf file. But I'm guessing you can't edit that either...

Nope -- the only access I have is through webDAV and a web based interface they provide for the files. Coppermine seems to be working though.
