GD/PHP how to get DPI of an image....

I have two images.

they are both 1" square.

One is 72dpi and one is 300dpi. How can I get reported what the resolution is of each image. up till now I can just can use GD to report the height and width.

You may want to look at exif headers which can be (but don't have to be) written inside tiff or jpg file. You'll find the appropirate function [man]exif_read_data[/man] in php manual.
You shouldn't rely on it though, because many images don't have them (exif data I mean).

Oh, and one more thing: try searching google for "php image resolution" - works miracles 😉

I did google.
Great info on getting the pixel size however none really on getting the DPI of the original image.
