[Resolved] capturing querystring

Is the ability to use querystring variables dependent on the server configuration?

I use them all the time, but I just started working on a site on a different server and they do not work.

Is there a way to capture them in the code or do i have to have the server admin do something to enable querystrings to be used?

$capture_variable = $_GET['querystring_value'];
