Hotlink protection = phpBB + session

I've tried to do a small hotlink protection, but it seems that sometimes HTTP_REFERER gives blank result. I thought to do this differently, Do you guys know how to check if current user(by checking the session) is logged into my phpbb forum?

That'd help me a lot to continue my small hotlink protection..

You mean starting the session at the beginning of the file, and then reading the $_SESSION array values? Just look into phpBB source to see what sessions they set. Basically. . .

if(empty($_SESSION['phpbb_session_var']) || !isset($_SESSION['phpbb_session_var']) )
{
    // give an error, or display nothing.
}
else{
    // The session is set, they're logged in.
}
?>
