Hi

I have a user log on facility using a username & password.

If the customer forgets their password is there a very basic script to remind them of their password?

you can simply ask them for there username, look up there password in the db, then mail it out to them.

Thorpe's solution is the most obvious.

For security's sake, i.e. someone gets a hold of a person's e-mail account and decides they want their passwords, you could instead reset the password and have the new password mailed out.

To use thorpe's solution, you would need to have a DB of unencrypted passwords, or passwords using a reversible cryption. How do you store passwords in the DB? Just plain text? MD5/SHA1? If you encrypt your data, chances are you'll be using my suggestion. If not, try thorpe's.

Yes, my DB contains unencrypted passwords, so simply asking for their username then looking up the password is the solution.

Alright. You didn't mark this thread resolved yet, perhaps by accident or not. Try to knock up a script to do this, and if you have problems, feel free to post your code.
