What does this mean?

I've been given a script to play with and I came across the following line

$hour += $minute > 30 ? 1 : 0;

Can someone explain to me the later part, i.e. - what does it mean

$minute > 30 ? 1 : 0;

It means that if $minute is greater than 30, add 1 to $hour, otherwise add 0. Brevity is another word for confusing. The part you refer to is known as the ternary operator - which allows you to specify a conditional operation in shorthand. Can also be written as:

$minute > 30 && ++$hour;
//OR
if($minute > 30)
{
  $hour = $hour +1;
}

thanks for that pointer, I googled around and I couldnt find anything on it - especially since I didnt know what the hell it was called.

Is there a resource around that contains handy shortcuts like that, especially since I have seen other like

$blah-> blah blah

and rather then ask what does this mean, over and over again, I prefer to study up on it.
