Just wondering if there is a method of sending mail that is guarentied to work on all servers reguardless of how they have configured it or if they have sendmail or not.
PEAR::Mail
I have found that PEAR::Mail() works as long as I use SMTP authentication. The only draw-back is that the server needs PEAR installed. It's not too hard to do though, and most good hosts already have it installed.

If Pear is not installed, you can use mailer scripts, which don't need installing (like PHPMailer). You still need an SMPT server.
PHPMailer has three way of sending emails(sendmail, PHP mail(), or SMTP). It can be a better choice if you have a changing environment.
