Creating thumbs with ImageMagick

Hi,

I am trying (unsuccessfully) to create thumbnails out of excisiting images.

For example....I have approx 10,000 images stored in a directory structure like this:

/var/www/html/propimages/00/04/140004.jpg

I want to create the thumbs in this dir:
/var/www/html/thumbs/propimages/00/04/140004.jpg

Obviously, there are many directories and new images are added daily. So, I tried setting a CRON using the find command like this:

find ./ -mtime -1 -name '/var/www/html/propimages/*.jpg' -exec convert -sample 100x65 {} /var/www/html/thumbs/propimages/{}.jpg \;

This doesnt seem to work.

Basically, I think what I want to do....is simple....yet...I cant figure it out. Can you offer some advice?

Create a script that will read the directory and all files in it. If the file ext is "jpg" or "JPG" then create the thumb.

Set your cron to run that script at a certain time.

This isn't a PHP issue. If you have access to CRON and know where 'imagemagick' or 'convert' are in the system (#where is convert, #find / -name convert), write a simple bash script and execute it with CRON at midnight or something. No need for PHP or anything along those lines.
