Change download from?

Hello, I am trying to download from a url but I want the download box to show that it is being downloaded from a different url. Is there a way to change this in the headers so it appears to be dowloaded from somewhere else?
Any help would be appreciated.

What you are trying to do would pose a huge security problem, and is therefore explicitly not allowed. Imagine a scenario such as where you tell someone that they are downloading happyBunnies.swf, when they are actually downloading maliciousVirus.exe .

If you find a way to do what you're asking, please report it as a security hole.

It's possible that I'm just misunderstanding the question, so please feel free to reply for a clarification of a less dangerous issue.

If you want to mask the file name than petiejoe is correct. However, if you just want to change the base url (such as the domain name) and both domains are yours, you can use mod_alias or mod_rewrite .

There are even a couple of other ways to do this via apache - try an apache forum for more ideas.
