Image upload problem

Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone has come across this problem or may have an ideas as to what maybe causing it.
I have a PHP script which uploads files (in this case images) to a directory on a server.
I have had this script for years and has worked on many different servers with no problems.
However, i have included this script on a friends site and for some reason the images wont display once uploaded. The images get uploaded to the correct directory but when i try and view them via a browser i don't see them.
Now for the strange part, if i use and FTP program and download them to my local machine, delete the offending image files from the server then upload them again (via the FTP program) the images dispaly.
Has anyone seen or heard of this before? Any ideas to what it might be?

The images may be blank. Have you tried viewing the offending images on your local computer after downloading them from the server?

Thanks for the reply.
I have done that and i can view the images.
Even when i go to the directory where the images are there are file sizes associated with the images, just can't view them.
This is very weird. I have also changed permissions left right and center to no avail.
I even asked the server for assistance and they said they couldn't help 🙁

Anymore ideas?

What happens if you place the images something simply like:

index.php <-tries to view images from
------------uploaded/ <-Images here

and then just go into uploaded with your browser and simply click the images to bring them up in your browser, if they come up blank. and you download then via ftp and they show as the should.... then its the weirdes sheit. Might even try to save them from the browser when they come up blank to see if they remain blank or get the right size etc etc :-/

I just worked it out then, i wasn't setting the permissions for the file once uploaded...ie.

chmod($UPLOAD_PATH . "/" . $running_id . $image_size . $ext[$i],0755);
