How to redirct POST data ?

Hello,

I have a form, from where the data is being posted to a php script. Now in the php script the script has to forward the data to another script with posted data. I know this can be done using header but i don't know how to keep the data posted with form in POST method.

For example:

The form below:

<form method="POST" action="1.php">
<input type="hidden" value="abc" name="t1">
<input type="submit">
</form>

Now its posting data using POST method to 1.php...and now 1.php will redirect everything to another php script with the data and it should be in POST method ...

How can i do this ?

So then use it. I'm saying you have to look at cURL, how it's used. Do some examples. cURL will pass POST values to any script you want. You just have to read the documentation.

Or google it.

Is it so complex that i have to use cURL or Zend for it...very amazing..i thought it can be done just by using header function in php i am totally amazed.

Instead of using zend or cURL i will find some other workaround for this.

using zend? did you bother following the link i posted above and reading the article?

I think because it is based at Zend.com (The PHP Company) he thought he needed the Zend encoder.

You say you want to use headers, follow the link. It outlines how to do what you want.

You shouldn't be. Posted HTML form data doesn't go in HTTP headers.

I got this which seems to be doing what i want to do.

header('HTTP/1.1 307 Temporary Redirect'); 
header('Location: somefile.php');

Acutally one more thing, its good to have a big long artcile on it..but if you could just have pin pointed to the code directly then it would have helped me alot.

I did'nt had time to read the article and i tried reading it and it was looking useless. Anyways i am not doing a blame game here everyone has its own method of teaching and learning. I learn by seeing practicle examples. Which i came to know from the above header code. So now you all know that by using header you can pass POST data.

Maybe I am missing something, but can you elaborate on how your above supplied code is passing POST variables?!?

Anyhow, you whine about not pinpointing to the exact answer, well he gave you the dang article? How much more pinpointing do you need?!? Here, how's this... Look for the wor "the". It's 3 words after the word "and". Do you see how ridiculous your post is? The article gives you a practical example, and even goes through the trouble of explaining every piece of said example.

I asked for header solution not some post method solution. which no one knew in here and i found out how to do it...just try the code yourself and its working...and i don't have time to ready lengthy articles of yours which are useless, resource hoggers and good for nothing.

I knew there was a solution availabelf or this kind of job in just 1 or 2 lines which i got and is working for me. Incase you're not happy then i don't give a damn.

Also u did bother to read that article but you did'nt bother to try my code...which works fine.

I suppose you dont have time to read the PHP Manual either, since it is a lengthy work that is useless, hogs resources and good for nothing.

If you ask me, the method you used looks like a hack that might not be guaranteed to work.
From RFC 2616 (Section 10.3.8), on 307 Temporary Redirect:

If the 307 status code is received in response to a request other
than GET or HEAD, the user agent MUST NOT automatically redirect the
request unless it can be confirmed by the user, since this might
change the conditions under which the request was issued.

I'm not that familiar with HTTP/1.1 to comment on what exactly that paragraph means, but it certainly does make the validity of your method look suspicious.

As laserlight has suggested, using a 307 redirect will not work on most browsers especially the older ones. Furthermore, browsers which correctly implement 307 (such as Mozilla) will always ask the user for confirmation before re-posting.

The method works under IE5-6 because(big surprise) Microsoft choose the ignore the standard.

First, let ME say that I did read the damn post, and I did answer the question. He could have just as easily went to www.google.com, searched for it, and found his answer.

Furthermore, he did want to send the POST variables to the next script. It is YOU who did not read his message. Devin and I gave him two answers that would fulfill his request. I specified that cURL would work. It's not 2 lines, but nothing in your life that is simple is always the best. Devin suggested looking at Zend.com for an answer.

But because he didn't want to read a lengthy paper or article, apparently his time is too precious, he chose to say that's not what he wanted.

I personally try and help everyone, but there are some questions that I answer quickly. Mainly because the root of their question is better left to them researching my suggestion, and then asking questions.

@AviSoft: If your time is so precious and can't be used reading articles and books, where the f*ck did you get your education? And why are you here asking us for solutions that you should be finding? We are NOT your one stop answer shop for everything. We will guide you to your answer, and help you with bumps along the way. We will NOT give you exactly what you want by a certain deadline with the expectation that you don't have to read everything that we wrote, or the manual.

@NormanGraham: When are you going to see that in his original post HE DID ASK how to PASS POST VARS to another script? Why do you feel the need to come here and haggle Devin, Weed and I when we did what was asked of us? The question clearly asks for posting of POST vars to another script using PHP.

No hard feelings but are you all crazy or something ? Or are you trying to show me that you are all nerds or something ? I have just one suggesstion for you all "JUST BE PRACTICLE".

No one bothers to read those dumb articles unless its really important. Why should i waste my time ? Time is money. And i am making money out of whole this thing.

So just stop talking about this stupid topic. Its already solved. Its working and i am happy. Also i don't think i am going to waste anymore of my time in here ever again. I have found much more better forums which are not time wasting like here.

Practicle knowledge is best knowledge. Atleast now i know how to do it ..for me...when i need to get over this confirmation thing i will find it again. Why waste time on stuff which is not even required. Example: "Oh i want to goto Australia, but i better ask way for USA and other countries also."

I know you won't give a damn and i don't give either...so just stay cool and be practicle.
