Help Creating a Limited Search

Hi all, I am looking to develop a query that selects all the required items and then limits them to 10 a page. I actually know how to use a "LIMIT" in a sql query, what I am not sure of however is how to develop the page so that at the bottom of the page you can select the next 10 or previous 10 results on the next page. Basically like a search engine.
