small dropdown menu problem

hi, i've got a dropdown menu populated from mysql, with 'Choose' being the first thing you see and then the list of options, if you press submit before actually chooing anything you can proceed, can i stop this? ie you dont move forward until something has been chosen, mabye i can post to itself if nothings been chosen? not sure

in your form validation code simply check to see if the submitted value for that form field equals "choose". if it does then echo an error.

you may also consider doing this form validation client-side using javascript.
